Cactus Rose is the southern Nevada chapter of Romance Writers of America®, a worldwide non-profit professional organization of over 9000 published and unpublished writers. The group’s purpose is to promote excellence in the romance genre, to provide support for writers within the romance publishing industry, and to help writers become published and establish careers in their writing field.

We offer educational programs, workshops to enhance writing skills, an informative monthly newsletter, and opportunities for networking.

Desert Hearts Reading Group: Meets the third Thursday of every month at the Sahara Library, 9600 W. Sahara, Las Vegas 702-507-3630. The group is taking a summer break and there will be no meetings until September. Have a happy summer!

August 15, 2009 Plotapalooza!: Brainstorming and Plot Troubleshooting with Cactus Rose--Join this all day brainstorming session to get the kinks out of your romance plot, boost up that sagging middle, and work on that satisfying ending. We'll share plotting techniques, including GMC, story boarding, Q & A, the mythic journey, et al.
