Cactus Rose is the southern Nevada chapter of Romance Writers of America®, a worldwide non-profit professional organization of over 9000 published and unpublished writers. The group’s purpose is to promote excellence in the romance genre, to provide support for writers within the romance publishing industry, and to help writers become published and establish careers in their writing field.

We offer educational programs, workshops to enhance writing skills, an informative monthly newsletter, and opportunities for networking.

Getting the 411 on Romance

Linda Cutler-Smith and Rebecca Andrews will discuss current trends in the romance industry and report on the RWA National Conference.

Linda Cutler-Smith has been in the book business for over eleven years here and in Delaware and Pennsylvania. She has hosted both Romance and Mystery reader groups at two major book companies and has conducted workshops for various regional RWA conferences. Linda has written reviews and articles for Romance magazines, web sites and newspapers. She enjoys professional and friendly relationships with many of today's romance authors, publicists and representatives of various publishing houses.Her love of Romance has been a long and steadily expanding relationship. She cites Sleeping Beauty as her first Romance, courtesy of Golden Books and a generous mother, and continues to support and promote the genre.

Rebecca Andrews is the author of The Millennium Phrase Book for Romance Writers, as well as The Christmas Wish, in the Christmas Wishes Anthology and The Way Home, in the Romance Upon the Midnight Clear Anthology.
